The court mainly struck down the law because there was no intelligible differentia between the two groups perfomrnkngin the dance bar and the five star hotels . The differentia between the two group did not bear any rational relation with the purpose of the law since the state government merely presumed without explaining that dances performed in five stars are of moral character .
