Wycliffe Nyachoti Otiso

Dr Wycliffe Nyachoti Otiso is a holder of a Bachelor of Laws (University of Warwick), a Postgraduate Diploma (KSL), Master of Laws (University of Nairobi), and a PhD in Law and Political Science at Universite de Pau et des Pays de L’Adour (UPPA). Dr. Otiso is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya and a Certified Professional Mediator, consulting with PMW Advocates. He is a member of the Law Society of Kenya. He is also a member of several professional research associations including; Les Afriques dans le Monde (LAM) and Kenya Scholars and Studies Association (KESSA).

Dr. Otiso is currently serving as Dean and Senior Lecturer at Chuka University School of Law. He is also an Adjunct Lecturer at Strathmore Law School Postgraduate Department. Prior to joining Chuka University in 2022, Dr. Otiso was Chair of Public Law and Lecturer at Kisii University School of Law where he taught, supervised and mentored undergraduate and postgraduate students for over 11 years. He has taught; legal research, constitutional law, legislative drafting, criminal law, succession law and jurisprudence. Other teaching interests include; public policy, law reform and criminal justice. He has published papers on: law and governance, citizenship, policing and law reform; and, presented papers in conferences and seminars on, ethics, access to justice, legal research and digital rights. Dr Otiso has also served as an Editor for Law Society of Kenya Journal and peer reviewed several journals. He was the 2019 Host Collaborator for the Carnegie African Diaspora Fellow at Kisii University. He is also a pro-bono legal advisor to The Eagles for Life, non-profit non-governmental organization involved in advocacy on issues of human right and access to justice.
