Sumesh Shiwakoty

Sumesh Shiwakoty is studying Human Rights at the Central European University (CEU) Department of Legal Studies, where his research focuses on the European Commission's proposed Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive. He has received a research grant from the CEU Department of Legal Studies for his research. He is also a policy analyst and commentator. His analyses have appeared in publications including The Nation, The National Interest, The Diplomat, Asia Times, and The Times of India. He has previously worked with the Center for Constitutional Rights in New York and has received a research grant from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation. He is also a 2023 Clinton Global Initiative University fellow. He holds a bachelor's degree in International Relations from Pitzer College, a member of The Claremont Colleges in Claremont, California.
