Frances Hand

Frances Hand is a penultimate year DPhil in Law Candidate at St Edmund Hall College, Oxford, under the supervision of Professor Imogen Goold and Professor Jonathan Herring.  Her thesis reconceptualises violent practice in UK maternity wards. She is Convenor and Chair of the Medical and Family Law Discussion Group 2022-2023 and founder of the Medical and Family Law Student Collaborative Hub. She completed the BCL (LLM) at Hertford College, University of Oxford in 2021. During this time she was Chair of the Herford College Law and Humanities Research Group and received the Victoria Fisher Memorial Prize from the University of Leicester in recognition of her work in feminist legal theory.
