Justice Student Network: An Evening Conversation with Karon Monaghan QC

by | May 26, 2016

The JUSTICE Student Network invites you to join us for an evening of conversation with Karon Monaghan QC.

A leading public law and equality practitioner, Karon has appeared in many of the leading equality decisions of the past two decades. As the latest edition of Chambers and Partners recognises – she has literally written the book on equality law (Monaghan on Equality Law).

A frequent commentator on the law in the media and a strong campaigner for equality in the law and diversity in the legal profession, Karon is the lead author of Judicial Diversity: Accelerating Change (with Geoffrey Bindman QC).

As we prepare to launch a new JUSTICE working party on judicial diversity, Karon’s thoughts will be particularly timely.

Andrea Coomber, JUSTICE’s Director, will lead the discussion, but you too will have a chance to put your questions on life in the law, human rights and equality to Karon – come ready for a lively exchange!

Karon Monaghan QC practises principally in the fields of equality and discrimination law, human rights and EU law.

Her work spans the fields of employment law, civil actions, judicial review and inquests. She frequently appears in cases at appellate level, including in the Court of Appeal and Supreme Court and in the CJEU and the European Court of Human Rights.
