UN Forum 2014

The United Nations Association invites you to be part of the biggest public event on the United Nations in recent decades – UN Forum 2014.  This day-long event will take place on 28 June at the historic venue of Central Hall Westminster. In the afternoon it will be asking an expert panel “Is our approach to development flawed?”

Date – 28th June

Time – 10:00am to 6:30pm

Venue – Central Hall, Westminster, London.

 

Speakers include: former Foreign Secretary Malcolm Rifkind; disarmament campaigner Kate Hudson; the UN’s R2P expert, Jennifer Welsh; UK Ambassador to the UN Karen Pierce; aid commissioner John Githongo; YouGov founder Peter Kellner; and Ban Ki-moon’s speechwriter, Mark Seddon. They will be put through their paces by top UK journalists Nik Gowing and Zeinab Badawi.

The event will also feature two fantastic keynote speakers. In the morning, Valerie Amos, UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs, will be interviewed by Channel 4’s Jon Snow. In the afternoon, we will hear from H.E. Danilo Türk, former President of Slovenia and UN Assistant-Secretary-General for Political Affairs.
