Samuel Pisar Travelling Fellowship awarded to Elena Butti

by | Jul 21, 2015

Oxford Pro Bono Publico is pleased to announce the first recipient of the Samuel Pisar Travelling Fellowship in Human Rights – Elena Butti.

Elena will undertake an internship at the International Center for Transitional Justice (ICTJ), in Bogota, Colombia, where she will work in the reparations section providing advice on the complex reparations process in Colombia, focusing on the rights of children. This internship will meaningfully contribute to Elena’s studies in Oxford, as her DPhil project investigates children’s rights in the transitional justice process in Colombia, as well as complementing her academic work with practical experience.

The Samuel Pisar Travelling Fellowship in Human Rights funds graduate students studying law to work on summer projects in developing countries, and has been possible by a generous gift from Lisbet Rausing and Peter Baldwin.

We express our heartiest congratulations to Elena, and wish her all the best in her internship and doctoral studies!
