Voice and Agency: Empowering Women and Girls for Shared Prosperity

On 14 May at 5:15pm EDT, the World Bank will be launching a ground-breaking report, shining a spotlight on the value of enabling women and girls to fulfil their potential, and of amplifying their voices. The report highlights gaps and constraints in existing mechanisms, and reviews promising new policies and interventions. Underlying that women’s agency – their ability to make decisions and act on them independently – has concrete as well as intrinsic value, this report puts advancing agency for women and girls squarely on the international development agenda.
